Linda Mitchell challenged me to a Tricube today! A Tricube is a 9 syllable poem of 3 lines, each comprised of 3 syllables, and commonly written in 3 stanzas for a total of 27 syllables.
River Tricube
when writing,
ride river
word rapids!
droughts will come
so will rains ~
levels change
when words flow
grab your pen:
listen in!
I love new poetry forms and have written this down in my notebook to try. Your poem describes the process well!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a nice topic and metaphor for writing. Very effective, with so few words. I love the rhymes, and the advice to "grab your pen" (proactive), but also the "listen in!" where the magic happens. Beautiful.

How you manage to capture such power in so few words, Kim! I feel the mighty "word rapids" and sense the changing levels... this all happens during writing. As do the droughts, lol. And now I'm gonna have to try writing a Tricube. You never cease to inspire!
