A Vaccine Haiku

A Vaccine Haiku

I got my vaccine

I’m ready to breathe again,

to give up this mask!

  1. Love your haiku. Since January I’ve loved seeing teachers sharing news of their vaccines. Will we ever be able to shed the masks? I have doubts.

    1. I have doubts, too - I’m just ready to see the seats at the public library free of caution tape so I can sit in them.

  2. Yay! I'm glad you got the vaccine. I hope it will free us up for some other things. I don't mind wearing the mask after the vaccine, in case I'm still able to carry the virus and spread it. But I am looking forward to going out to our first restaurant tomorrow with some also-vaccinated friends.

  3. It is the most liberating feeling, isn't it?! I love the use of a haiku.

    1. Thank you, Peg. Haikus are my hook into writing on days that I feel rushed and short of time. These days I am finding peace in minimalism and economy of words. They go hand in hand for me!

  4. Even if we ha e to wear the masks for longer, it's still quite liberating! Feeling you can be out and so much less vulnerable. It's amazing!
